CourseGraphic In this skills-based certification training program you will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Just like physical First Aid or CPR, this course empowers you to assist someone in crisis until professional help is secured, ultimately resulting in a formal three-year certification. You will master the ALGEE 5-step Action Plan, which provides a clear framework for assessing risk, listening nonjudgmentally, and encouraging both professional and self-help strategies. The updated curriculum also includes critical guidance on trauma-informed care and PTSD, ensuring you can navigate complex situations involving early intervention and recovery. By joining the 4.5 million trained individuals in the U.S., you will gain the evidence-based knowledge and confidence needed to support your community and develop your own personal self-care resilience plan. Manual is included in the price of the course.
