CourseGraphic Start your day with an early morning swim workout in a structured and supportive aquatic environment. This program is designed for experienced swimmers seeking a consistent opportunity to improve fitness, maintain conditioning, and enjoy the benefits of swimming before work, school, or daily activities. This is not a learn-to-swim program and is not intended to teach swimming fundamentals. Participants must already possess extensive swimming experience and be proficient in all four competitive strokes:
freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.

Swimmers should be capable of continuously completing at least 500 yards without assistance and must be comfortable participating in independent workout environments. Daily workouts will be posted on a whiteboard for participant convenience. Swimmers are encouraged to follow the posted workout or provide and complete their own training plan. The purpose of this program is to provide pool space, structure, and coaching supervision for individuals seeking a quality morning swim opportunity.

Participant Requirements:
• Proficient in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
• Able to complete a minimum of 500 continuous yards without assistance.
• Comfortable swimming independently in a lap swimming environment.
• Able to follow pool safety rules and instructor directions at all times.

Participants are responsible for providing their own:
• Swimsuit
• Swim cap (if desired)
• Goggles
• Fins
• Pull equipment (pull buoy, paddles, etc.)
• Towel

Equipment Provided by DVC:
• Pace clock
• Optional posted workout

Participant safety is the highest priority of this program. Instructors reserve the right to remove any participant whose actions are deemed unsafe, disruptive, or dangerous to themselves, other swimmers, or staff. Instructors also reserve the right to remove participants whose swimming abilities do not meet the minimum requirements of the class. Such decisions will be made solely for the safety and well-being of the participant, fellow swimmers, and staff members.

Course Goal:
To provide experienced swimmers with a safe, supervised, and consistent opportunity to begin their day through fitness swimming and personal workout development in a community-based aquatic environment.
