Reading with a Purpose 4th- 6th (Session 1/ Period 2)

Students will explore reading and language in a learning environment which will engage students in individual or small group activities. They will create interest, provide practice, and stimulate discussion. The goal is for students to become better readers of nonfiction informational text, other literature, and poetry as they learn to cite evidence from the text and practice and develop their reading.Students will participate in dialogue and discussion with fellow classmates on the text being read. No experience necessary to be successful in this class.Your child will leave this class feeling more confident in their reading ability, with skills to build their vocabulary, and the ability to incorporate their learning into good writing strategies.
