Oil Painting 6th-9th (Session 2/ Period 3)

 Get your canvas, brushes, oil paints and linseed oil ready to go right in the wonderful world of oil painting. What is that? You will learn! We will review some of the many different styles of painting from the past and present (as well as those who painted them of course!) Learn all about color, value, and painting from eye at various distances (depth and proportion), composition, as well as blocking out your basic image before moving onto the fine details. Students will gain insight into thinking like a painter and gain the inspiration and skills to confidently pick up their brushes, mix their colors, then paint what comes to mind. Whether you want realistic, traditional, modern, or surrealistic, you will gain the skills to make your ideas become a reality on canvas!
