« back to classes page
ClassGraphic Family Friendly Event Ages 9+: Join us for a live guided tour of the night sky, identifying major constellations and observable planets in our Solar System and reviewing their unique characteristics. We will then extend our view to explore the remarkable catalog of extrasolar planets (exoplanets), examining a selection of the most surprising and scientifically intriguing examples discovered so far. Astronomers have confirmed thousands of these distant worlds, revealing a diversity far greater than previously imagined, offering clues about planetary formation. We will conclude with the full-dome feature Out There: The Quest for Extrasolar Worlds, which illustrates the methods used to detect exoplanets. The program invites consideration of worlds that may resemble, or differ profoundly from, our own.
